Entrusting the care of children to others is an important decision for parents.  Our staff recognise this and the importance of their responsibility and aim to provide care which reflects the needs of all parents and children.

We believe that the Centre should strive for excellence in quality care.

Quality care in the Centre is possible when:       

• Children are valued and cared for in a safe, trusting environment.                                                     
• Parents are valued and their input is integrated in the type of care children receive.
• Staff are valued and their input is integrated in the type of care children receive.

We believe parents' participation is essential for quality care of children.

We believe parents have a right to be involved in:    

• Issues of management
• The type of care their children receive

Parents are also expected to be involved by:        

• Communicating closely with staff on a day-today basis
• Alerting staff or management to any suggestions or concerns
• Practical assistance in working bees and maintenance of the Centre, and in other ways such as helping with excursions and providing useful material and resources.

We believe that the Centre will operated most effectively when both staff and parents participate in decision making.

This applies to both day-to-day decisions and wider management decisions.

We believe staff are the Centre's most valuable resource.

We believe that children thrive in an environment where their individual needs are met.

The centre aims to provide an environment:               

• Which is both stimulating and restful
• Where the program concentrates on all areas of development: intellectual, emotional, social and physical. 
• In which all children re encouraged to try all activities suited to their level of development regardless of     sex or age.
• In which a child's family background or composition is recognised
• Where limits are clear and behaviour is managed in the context of helping a child learn  
• While enabling them to retain their sense of dignity   
• Where there is a commitment to non-violence     
• Where children are provided with a healthy, nourishing diet

We believe that everyone has the right to feel safe all of the time.

We place great emphasis on the physical safety of play spaces and on the staff's work environment.  Respect for each other and fair, positive treatment of each other is strongly encouraged amongst children and staff.

We believe that quality child care is an essential service.

All reasons are good reasons for child care and the provision of quality care of children is a joint responsibility of parents and the community.
